Build and Show Your Skills
Our Performance program consists of classes in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Musical Theatre, and Hip Hop. The season begins in September and ends with the year-end show on the big stage in late May or early June!
These classes receive a costume and appear in our yearly book.
All classes include warm up, isolations, stretches, across the floor progressions, and choreography combinations. The second semester (January-May) is spent learning choreography for the spring show.
Ballet
Traditional and contemporary classes focus on fundamental positions, technique, and terminology designed to develop strength, balance, and artistry of the dancer.
Jazz
Fun, upbeat, and lively classes range from traditional to modern jazz styles focus on rhythms and isolations designed to increase strength while expressing personal style.
Hip Hop
Street dance styles performed to hip hop music while developing elements like popping, locking, waving, gliding, and freestyle circles.
Contemporary
Expressive and dynamic classes that draws influence from several genres of dance, including modern, jazz, and ballet while expressing personal style.
Tap
Classes range from beginner to advanced that work on basic steps and rhythms, focusing on improving speed and accuracy.
Musical Theatre
These typically jazz-based classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage, with emphasis on connecting with the audience.
